I Got The Power

I am a Control Freak - Need To Be In Control 101 - thats my life study program. I'm good at it too - I can bullshit myself into thinking that I have control at every given moment. Danging on the end of a pendulum, I can also completely lose it and swing the other way and only see myself falling - falling out of control - no power - nothing to hold onto - I'm falllliiiinnnnggggg.......

So it's just another week for me isn't it. The struggle between the polarities of IN CONTROL and OUT OF CONTROL. The Geminian glasses seeing POWERFUL and POWERLESS.

My Creations This Week

1. My very precious camera (of 2 years) can no longer be used. The internal connection point where the power supply plugs in has caved in on itself and nothing can be plugged into it.

2. My mobile phone (of 9 months) can no longer be used. The internal connection point where the power supply plugs in has caved in on itself and nothing can be plugged into it.

3. My car (of 3 years) caught on fire yesterday. That’s right – fire! I just made it to the mechanic with smoke pouring out with rather large unsettling clunking noises coming from under the bonnet.

4. The power points on the right hand side of the house kept tripping out all week. Last night through a process of elimination it was discovered that the washing machine (2 years old) had earth leakage.

So in the week that my entire family (household and extended) enjoy the Noro virus, my four highly valued items that I most depend upon cease to function.

mmmm.....So what do these things mean to me?

Camera represents freedom and communication
Mobile phone represents communication
Car represents freedom and connection
Washing Machine represents My need to commit a neatness and perceive that I have control over mess

The Common Denominators here are

• Power and Control
• Connection and Communication
• Freedom

Where's the Benefit?

I have a smaller newer camera with not as many functions that I can still use in the meantime. I just haven’t used it so aren’t as familiar with its benefits. Getting to know it, I realise that it is actually BETTER than my old much loved baby.

I am using my old mobile phone – it’s not as pretty or new – however I can still take calls and texts. In my recent Decluttering of my house, I decided to appreciate my adundance instead of giving away - so luckily I kept this.

Without my car, I can walk to the post office, bank and shops for my daily errands - thus honouring my values of keeping fit. When I travel I love to catch public transport, have an adventure, find my way around and get hopelessly lost and make new discoveries. Without my car, I have the opportunity to explore my own city as a tourist and take public transport for the first time.

Most of my clothes are hand wash anyway. Without a washing machine, my boys will learn alternatives to using those 15 towels each day and how to hand wash their own clothes. Tragic :-)

So where do I have Power and Control?
Where do I have Communication and Connection?
Where do I have Freedom?

I can see that I already have all of this in unbelievable abundance.

So what is the Message here?

I know some modalities that would evaluate my week and freak out and see this as a sign that I have lost my connection to my power source. Then again I could chose to see where I have NOT lost my connection to my power source.

Perception is in the eye of the Beholder.

I choose to see these messages as reminders to never lose sight of both sides knowing that there will never be a loss without a gain or a positive without a negative or a pleasure without a pain.

At least I can control that! he he
